Next.js, Integrations, Internal Systems

Full-Stack Developer, AI-First

Build and run everything technical behind a growing marketing agency: client websites in Next.js, our own internal platform, ad tracking, and the CRM and software integrations our clients run on. You work AI-first, and you own what you ship in production.Contract · Remote (Worldwide)

Why This Role Matters

AB Marketing Group is a marketing agency founded in 2016 in New Jersey, serving local and regional businesses across the US. Development here isn't one job. In a single week the work can be a new client website in Next.js, a fix to our own internal platform, conversion tracking that tells a media buyer which ads actually booked jobs, and a client's CRM wired to their website forms and field-service software. We're hiring a developer who wants that range, works AI-first, and treats a live client system with the care it deserves.

Most of what our clients see from marketing runs on code: the site that captures the lead, the tracking that proves where it came from, the CRM that routes it to a person. When any of it breaks, a business loses calls without knowing why. Today one partner carries most of this work alongside running the company. This seat takes ownership of it: building new things, keeping the existing ones healthy, and getting faster each month with AI tools without letting the quality slip.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain client websites and landing pages, mostly Next.js and Tailwind on Vercel, with WordPress, WooCommerce or Shopify when a client already lives there. Work runs from first draft through launch, then monthly updates.

  • Ship the interactive parts that make a site earn its keep: instant estimators, calculators, booking and reservation flows, payment links, and forms that hold up against spam.

  • Run launches end to end: DNS cutovers, SSL, redirects, email authentication (SPF, DKIM), and the checklist that keeps a launch from quietly losing rankings or leads.

  • Install and debug tracking: GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel and Conversions API, Google Ads conversions and offline conversion imports, consent settings, and app measurement when a client has an app.

  • Connect client systems: CRM builds and automations (GoHighLevel and others), website forms that land in the CRM, historical imports, and integrations with field-service, scheduling and practice software through their APIs and webhooks.

  • Build and improve our own platform: a React and Supabase (Postgres) dashboard with hubs for sales, projects, hiring, ads and finance, backed by Python services on Google Cloud Run, plus Slack bots and AI agents that use it through MCP tools.

  • Support sales with fast technical work: proposal sites with payment links, preview websites for prospects, and audits of a prospect's site and tracking.

  • Keep things healthy: dependency and security upgrades across our sites, monitoring, and owning the fix when something breaks.

What You'll Bring

Must-Haves

  • 3+ years of professional development with work running in production that you can show or walk us through.

  • Strong TypeScript, React and Next.js. You've shipped real sites or apps, not only tutorials.

  • SQL and Postgres comfort: you can model data, write a migration and read a query plan when something's slow.

  • One back-end language beyond JavaScript; Python preferred.

  • Fluency with REST APIs, webhooks and OAuth. You can read another platform's docs and connect two systems that weren't built to talk to each other.

  • Daily, hands-on use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar) in real work, and the habit of checking what they produce before it ships.

  • Production ownership: you've deployed, monitored and fixed live systems, including the night something broke.

  • Working knowledge of how the web is wired: DNS, hosting, SSL, caching, and what changes when a site moves.

  • Clear written English and at least 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern (New York) business hours.

  • Self-directed: you can take a loose request from a non-technical teammate and turn it into a scoped, finished piece of work.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Supabase, row-level security, and Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery).

  • Marketing tech: GA4, GTM, Meta Conversions API, Google Ads conversion tracking, call tracking.

  • CRM and automation platforms (GoHighLevel, HubSpot), plus Zapier or similar.

  • Stripe, Twilio or other payment and messaging APIs.

  • WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify development.

  • Building with LLM APIs, AI agents or MCP servers.

  • End-to-end testing with Playwright.

  • Agency background: you've worked across many clients' systems at once.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days

  • Learn our stack, our repos and how we ship: branches, pull requests, previews, and the checks that run before anything reaches production.

  • Ship your first client site update and your first fix to our platform.

  • Take over one active integration or tracking setup and leave it better documented than you found it.

  • Flag missing access or unclear requests early instead of guessing.

First 90 Days

  • Owning client website builds and launches from first draft to live.

  • The first call for tracking and integration problems, with fixes that hold.

  • Shipping improvements to our platform every week.

  • Measurably faster with AI tools, with no drop in quality and nothing broken in production.

What Makes You Successful Here

  • You treat AI coding tools like a fast junior developer: useful every day, often wrong, never the final word.

  • You'd rather understand why something broke than patch it twice.

  • You write things down: the next person to touch your work shouldn't need you in the room.

  • You're comfortable talking to a client's IT person, an account manager, or a business owner, in plain language.

  • You flag problems early. Silence doesn't solve anything.

Team Structure

You'll report to our Managing Partner, who owns our systems and technology today, and work alongside our account managers, media buyers, SEO team and designers, who bring you most requests. You're an independent contractor working full time on a fixed monthly rate, with a direct line to the people who own each account and no middle management.
